Species: EPIDOTE Locality: Tin Mtn. Mine, Jackson, NH Specimen Size: 10 mm field of view Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 1993 Catalog No.: 2152 Notes: First guess was perhaps enstatite. EDS analysis indicated epidote. The small peak in the plot at 6.4 KeV is iron, frequently found in epidote chemistry. A green-brown radial cluster of clinochlore is on the left. |

Species: EPIDOTE Locality: Tin Mtn. Mine, Jackson, NH Specimen Size: 5 mm field of view - close-up Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 1993 Catalog No.: 2152 Notes: Dark green radial clusters of clinochlore and quartz crystals are also present. |

Species: EPIDOTE Locality: Tin Mtn. Mine, Jackson, NH Specimen Size: 10 mm field of view. Light brown, transparent crystal in photo center. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 1993 Catalog No.: 2152 Notes: Translucent green radial cluster of clinochlore on left. |

Species: CLINOCHLORE Locality: Tin Mtn. Mine, Jackson, NH Specimen Size: 15 mm field of view. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 1993 Catalog No.: 2152 Notes: Dark green radial cylinders of clinochlore. |

Species: HISINGERITE Locality: Madison Lead Mine, Madison, NH Specimen Size: 2.2 mm field of view Field Collected: Art Smith, #9598 Catalog No.: u2567 Notes: Lusterous black balls of hisingerite on quartz. Purchased from Salktown Sales 2022. |

Species: BARITE Locality: Wise Mine, Westmoreland, NH Specimen Size: 1.8 mm crystal Field Collected: Anna Wilken Catalog No.: u2578 Notes: Barite is reported from the Wise Mine on mindat, but there are no photos. This is the first Wise Mine barite that I [tm] have seen. Small colorless cubes of fluorite and clear quartz crystals are also present on this specimen. |
Species: WHITLOCKITE Locality: Fletcher Mine, Groton, NH (per label with gifted specimen) Specimen Size: 2.1 mm field of view Field Collected: Clayton Ford. A gift from Gordon Jackson Catalog No.: u1975 Notes: Another whitlockite group on specimen u1975. During a May, 2022 discussion on these Fletcher Mine whitlockite specimens with Jim Nizamoff, he expressed some reservations about attributing these specimens to the Fletcher Mine. He was not aware of a whitlockite occurrence at Fletcher and opined that the pegmatite chemistry of Fletcher did not well match that needed for whitlockite formation. Jim felt the possibility that these specimens were comingled with Palermo specimens was a strong possibility. |

Species: WHITLOCKITE Locality: Fletcher Mine (?), Groton, NH Specimen Size: 1.4 mm crystal Field Collected: Clayton Ford. A gift from Gordon Jackson Catalog No.: u1975 Notes: Chemistry computed from EDS analysis is Ca7.55(Na0.74Mg0.71)P7.0O37 normalized for 7 P. For whitlockite chemistry, Ca9Mg(PO3OH)(PO4)6 . The chemistry of this specimen suggests moderate substitution by Na for Ca and/or Mg. See locality source caution with above photo. |

Species: WHITLOCKITE Locality: Palermo Mine, Groton, NH Specimen Size: Large crystal is 1.8 mm. Field Collected: Clayton Ford Catalog No.: u2584 Notes: Water clear crystal. The color comes from siderite matrix behind. From a stack of 70 images with Canon MPE-65 lens. |
